Group Advice: Buddhist Recovery Network Suggestions on Setting up and Facilitating a Group
Preamble
Some time ago Kevin Griffin prepared some advice on running groups. We encouraged Kevin to update this earlier document, and as he doesn’t claim to be the single source of wisdom on this, he sought advice from members of our Advisory Council and from other people running groups. His original goal was to take all the group formats and try to boil them down to a single suggested format. After hearing from other group leaders, he decided instead to just include all the group formats. So, now the document is about ten pages of Kevin’s suggestions followed by half a dozen group formats. We hope these suggestions are useful. Naturally we expect this document to grow and develop, and so feedback is always welcome.
